Process for Signing Nursery and Primary School Admission Forms 2021

As many of you will be aware, we have closed the church for public worship in light of current Tier 4 restrictions. Therefore, we will not be taking appointments for nursery and primary school application form signing on 3rd January as previously advertised.

Under the current restrictions it is also not possible for us to open the church for face-to-face appointments, so for 2021 admissions a new process will be followed. Please read the instructions below and make sure you get the relevant documents to us by Friday 8th January 2021.

Step 1: Email the relevant form/s fully completed with all the required details (as you would if you were bringing them to church) to the church wardens at the following email address by Friday 8th January 2021:

We can accept the form/s in any format, as long as they are fully completed. If you are unable to provide the form/s electronically, please email the above address for instructions on posting hard copies. This should ideally only be a last resort.

Step 2: The church wardens will check the church attendance registers over the weekend of 9th and 10th January against the criteria set out for the school to which you are applying. Note that the periods of register suspension during April-September, November and during the current Tier 4 restrictions will not affect your record of attendance.

Step 3: If you have satisfied the criteria for attendance (this varies from school to school, so please do check) the church wardens will provide a signed electronic version of the form/s in PDF format, which will be emailed back to you.

If the attendance criteria have not been met, an email will be sent notifying you of this. You will be offered the chance to have a discussion with the church wardens and St Michael’s Chair of Governors.

In either case you will receive an email response by the end of Sunday 10th January.

Step 4: Please ensure that you provide your form/s to the school in whatever manner the school requires (check the school’s website for this). The church wardens will email details of applicants to schools that have been applied to and explain the revised process. This is just to ensure that schools understand the process we have followed.

Thank you

St Michael’s Church attendance registers

It is for Church Schools to determine admission criteria based on Church attendance in conjunction with the London Diocesan Board for Schools.  Parents should familiarise themselves with church attendance criteria applicable to September 2021 and beyond for both primary and secondary school places, including any updates as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please direct queries by email to the churchwardens:
